Practice Makes Perfect

Nothing takes the place of practice. You can read all the books on poker you want. The bottom line is getting down to the tables and actually playing. The most popular form of poker is obviously Texas Hold 'em.

However this game is not the only one played competitively. There is Omaha, Stud, and Razz. Also learning how to play Pot Limit and Limit poker variants is important as well being proficient at Hi/Lo variants of Stud and Omaha. I recommend players go to Pokerstars to learn how to play.

With dedicated play you'll find you're getting better and can greatly see your game improving. Where once I was placing around 3000th in large 12,000 player Freerolls I've now peaked at 15th, and hope to get even higher.

Play. Play, and play some more. It's the best advice to improving your game.
