Practice Makes Perfect

Nothing takes the place of practice. You can read all the books on poker you want. The bottom line is getting down to the tables and actually playing. The most popular form of poker is obviously Texas Hold 'em.

However this game is not the only one played competitively. There is Omaha, Stud, and Razz. Also learning how to play Pot Limit and Limit poker variants is important as well being proficient at Hi/Lo variants of Stud and Omaha. I recommend players go to Pokerstars to learn how to play.

With dedicated play you'll find you're getting better and can greatly see your game improving. Where once I was placing around 3000th in large 12,000 player Freerolls I've now peaked at 15th, and hope to get even higher.

Play. Play, and play some more. It's the best advice to improving your game.

Online Poker Advantage

There is a big difference between sitting around a table of poker players and playing on the internet. You can't "read" someone through a computer screen. What you can read is more incomplete than the actual experience of being there. So how do these poker greats get their practice?

One professional poker player literally wrote the book on online poker. He's the "Danish Dragon" Kim Birch and has been made six figures a year playing online poker. He calls it Online Poker Advantage and can really elevate your game whether you play for fun or for serious money in online poker tournements.

The difference between Kim Birch and an average poker player comes down to experience and forgetting being in the hot seat of high stakes games more times than we can ever remember. Experience teaches like nothing else. The tips and techniques used by poker professionals often slip right under the nose of the average viewer trying to pick up the winning poker strategies of the game's greats.

If you love this game you've got dreams of being at the final table at a high profile event. Hitting that learning wall can be frustrating and with online poker being the best place to play for convenience and huge pool of players of all skill levels being able to hone your skills against them with help when teh chips are downand the right call means it all.

There are a lot of poker products on the market. For online learning and playing to improve your real life game you'll be hard pressed to find a better guide than Kim Birch's Online Poker Advantage.

Online Poker Tips

By Anthony LeMaire

Playing poker online has become more popular with recent media exposure and shows like Celebrity Poker that are showing often on TV. If you are taking the step to begin playing poker online then there are some online poker tips you need to remember. Some online poker tips you should remember include always being polite online, following any rules of the site, and being sure to play the game as quickly as possible.

The first of these online poker tips is to always polite when you are playing poker online. Even though you cannot see the people you are playing with you should treat them with respect and courtesy and be sure to keep rude comments to yourself. Take the time to be kind and you will improve the game of poker and keep unseemly fights from starting in the poker room.

You should also be sure to make sure you are aware of any rules that a site may have. Once you know the rules be sure that you always follow them. Remember that if you do not follow the rules you could be thrown out of the poker room and you may even lose any money that you have put into the site. Keep the games going good and obey the rules.

Another of these online poker tips is to be sure that you play as quickly as possible when playing online poker. Games can get boring and drag if people play very slowly. Do your part to keep the game moving and fun by playing quickly and not leaving your computer in the middle of a poker game. If you keep these online poker tips in mind you will have a great experience while playing poker online. These online poker tips will make the online poker games fun for you and the others that are playing.

The Importance of Calculating Poker Odds

By Anthony LeMaire

There are many people who mistakenly believe that poker is a game that is based on chance and luck. However, this is not the case. What many people do not know is that poker is not merely based on luck, but also on probability. Poker odds are very important to review when it comes to successfully playing the game of poker. Before you can be successful at the game of poker, it is important to understand all the subtle nuances of the game itself. One of these nuances is poker odds, which is a very important aspect when it comes to determining if and how an individual will be able to win a poker hand.

When you play a hand of poker, people bet. This is how people win money at poker; it is due to the betting that takes place at the start of and throughout every poker hand. If a person understands poker odds very well, they will be able to accurately decipher which hands are worth playing and which are not.

Using the math and probability skills that are worked out when it comes to poker odds, these players will be able to accurately determine which hands are worth betting higher and which ones may be better to just fold. While anything is possible, and this is where the chance comes in to some degree when it comes to the game of poker, a number of helpful moves can be utilized by understanding and implementing poker odds into an individual’s education when it comes to the game of poker.
